Challenging Image Captures
As many of you know, capturing an accurate representation of jewelry with a scanner or camera can be challenging. We find pearls and precious gems are the most challenging.
This image of some new Dark Blue Sapphire Rondelles took a lot of effort today. Many failed scanner attempts - bad, bad color coming through. Several photo ops in varying times of day and light conditions with our digital camer - bad shadows, wrong color, no sparkle etc. Finally, Cynthia remember an old photoshop trick to only pick up certain colors from an image. She was able to “filter” out the other colors that were coming in and create a good color representation of these gorgeous stones! We still did not capture the degree of sparkle that’s really in the stones, but its the best we can do.
