Popularity of Black Diamonds

Just read a new article about the recent popularity of black diamonds in FirstWaterNews.com. About 2 years ago, one of our suppliers of higher end gemstones tried to convince us that colored diamond beads were going to be very popular. We had to admit that they were pretty cool looking, There was a LOT more sparkle, even from diamond chips than we ever expected.

We said thanks, but no thanks, because we assumed the price point was too high and our customers would never believe how nice they really are from an online image. But, last year, we finally relented and started stocking a few diamond chip beads. They sold out almost immediately. Since they, we’ve added brown and silver diamond beads. Same story, though the black diamonds continue to sell the best.(l think the silver ones have even more sparkle).

So, we’ll pass along what we learned, give them a try. The price is expensive compared to most semi-precious stones, but the value relative to other precious gemstones is incredible. Ours are strung on stranded wire and are graduated, so you only need to add a clasp if you want a simple diamond necklace. It’s also easy to drop in a focal bead, or simply restring them if you want your own design!

We posted a link to a new batch of silver diamonds a couple weeks back, but posting this image of black diamons along with the link to the article seemed apprapos.
