We can tell by the wide variety of designs featured in the shops of our Fans, Friends, & Followers that many of you like to use unusual focal beads in your designs.
Online shopping has enabled designers to find a huge variety of focal beads that buyers used to have to goto bead shows to find. In abeadstore.com, we try to stock unusual focal beads that are moderately priced.
We’d love to buy a supply of some of the larger semi-precious gems that are available as geodes, donuts or undrilled, calibrated stones, but it is not practical to buy rather expensive items in small quanities, create a part, scan an image and then sell an item out with a single buyer. As many of you know from your own shops, that’s a lot of overhead.
But, we do buy unusual items when we can get a larger quanitity or have a supplier that we have confidence in to restock the item. The Geode & Ruby Necklace below was created by one of our employees using one of our geode slices, some ruby beads, and Sterling Silver Chain. We also have a huge selection of gemstone donuts in many styles and sizes that make fabulous focal beads, but lack the organic character of these unique pieces.
