Gemstone Trends in 2010
The American Gem Trade Association GemFair show (AGTA Gemfair) is one of the large shows during the Tucson Gem & Mineral Shows. It wrapped up a couple weeks ago. The AGTA is mostly very high end dealers of calibrated gemstones. Member’s are mostly bench jewelers and those active in the fine jewelry industry.
But, we watch trends closely as these designers influence what you’ll see in the fine jewelry market in the next year. An article in Diamond World summarizes their take on the gemstones that will be popular this year based on discussions they had at the AGTA Gemfair.
Specifically, they mentioned tourmaline, spinel, quartz and garnet as gemstones that will be very popular in 2010. That’s great for us as we have always sought out those stones for our customer base.
