When Your Internet Goes Down…..
It really sucks! Our DSL modem in the office died on Sunday night. I ran over and bought a replacement model on Monday morning, but our download speeds were about 64KB…..about as fast as the old dial up services. With more than 2 people working, it was almost impossible to get a page to load. We focused all the bandwidth on shipping orders and I spent the whole day trying to troubleshoot with Qwest.
Yesterday, after 2 technicians and an army of other support people, we finally figured out that we needed an “old” model of modem that is not made any more to actually work on the type of circuits we have in our office complex. This morning, they were able to locate one and install it. And, we’re up and faster than ever!
It’s really hard to run an internet business without an internet connection. We apologize if we missed any correspondence or phone calls (our phone lines were also down yesterday). Actually, it’s pretty scary of how dependent businesses are today on the Internet. Our lives would come to a grinding and abrupt standstill if there was a widespread outage….
